Hi guys. I thought I had done a theme update last night, however my theme is still showing at 2.8 and I note that in the download section 2.81 is available. How do I manually install this theme whilst keeping all customizations.

Also, changelog does not mention the google maps bug, has this been addressed yet?

    thanks
    vinnie.

    Hi Vinnie,

    Thanks for contacting us.

Kindly could you check out this(http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-update-a-wordpress-theme-without-losing-customization/) articles for instructions on updating without loosing your customizations.

    I hope that helps.

Thanks Daniel. Will i have to do this manually for every update of the theme? If so I might be keen to get a refund on this theme. Also could I get an answer about the google maps bugs please, other thread said the fix was hours away (that was a few days ago)

    thanks.

it matters what changes you did, if you do changes only in theme options there is no need for manual update, auto update is just fine. If you do changes in the source code, then I recommend to use a child theme. Google Map issue has been solved 😉

Im happy it works well for you Roman, however it doesnt for me sorry. Yes have clicked Check Again probably 50 times in the last 36 hours.

Please advise. Is there anywhere in the database that a property may be set that is interfering with this?

pushing a newer version is not gonna help if it doesn’t work now for you…there can be some restriction from your server which doesn’t allow the update

What kind of restriction might that be? I can try to have it removed, I have pretty much full control of the server. Every other theme I have ever used (including paid ones) updates fine, and the update did show up a few days ago, it just failed which is why I asked if there may be some property in the mysql database that got updated before it failed.
