I just saw that the new version of alora v2.5.0 is available for download. Before performing this update I would like to know the exact procedure to update. what to uninstall plugins etc …
thank youRomanKeymasterMay 16, 2014 at 10:00 amPost count: 2578
I would recommend to back up your current theme folder as well as Theme4Press Core plugin and Revolution Slider plugin. Then remove only the theme, upload the new version and install it. Then the theme will show you a message to upgrade the plugins which is made automatically.Johan BergstadSpectatorMay 16, 2014 at 10:05 amPost count: 32
Do I automatically get a notice for an update because I don’t see it in the Panel yet.RomanKeymasterMay 16, 2014 at 10:19 amPost count: 2578
sorry, but not. automatically updates are from wordpress.org themes. our premium themes need to be updated manually.gumaroSpectatorMay 16, 2014 at 6:04 pmPost count: 19

I’m using an alora-child theme. Could you please tell me how to update to the new version.
I tried updating but met a problem. I left the child them activated, removed the parent theme and installed the new version. it all went well but as soon as i finished updating the core theme and the revolution slider, something went wrong. I have an update, so i can revert to the state before i began the update. Your word of advice will be highly appreciated.

i mean that i have a backup.Data Insight AfricaSpectatorMay 20, 2014 at 9:56 amPost count: 6
both the url and admin area are inaccessible now. I have just reinstalled the backup. I want to follow the steps again and see what the problem was. I need to know if the steps i took were right. Leaving the child-theme activated and then reinstalling the new version of the theme and updating the plugins. what next?……… because this is where i got the problem.
