  I’m looking for a way to remove the white space above titles in widgets in the sidebar. It seems all widgets that have titles in them are pushed down from the top of the area they occupy.

this will be fixed in the next theme release, for now you could try this Custom CSS, without my testing:
#sidebar .widget {top:-20px;}
modify per your needs 🙂
