    I just need to know if I can I have more than one blog with a different author for each blog?

    I think every author could publish in a specific post category and then you could have it displayed as blogs, if you need an unique blogs on one domain/subdomain then you could check the WP multisite functionality http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network
