    Hello,

    We’ve been using the free version of Evolve for a while and we love it, but we recently decided to upgrade to a premium theme for additional features/customisation options etc. We decided to switch to Alora as we liked the look and features in the demo, however there have been a couple of issues with the new layout, which I currently have on our test site.

    The main issue is that there is no “wide” layout for Alora, unless I’ve completely missed it. I’ve tried the different templates and some custom CSS from the support forum and although it is possible to get a “wide” content section and header, I can’t seem to widen the menu as in evolve (there was an option “layout width”, which we had set to 1600px), which is what I’m really needing. We have quite a few menu items so this is critical for us to avoid the menu spilling onto a second line.

    A smaller issue is that Alora doesn’t have front-page content boxes like evolve. Our previous layout had the slider and content boxes, followed by a content section with side-bar underneath. I should be able to put the content boxes in using the shortcodes, but I’m assuming there’s no way to put these above the start of the sidebar? Not the end of the world but I’m trying to keep the look of the site as close to what we had before, for now…

    Thanks

    C

    Hi there,

    Thanks for writing in,

    To achieve that, you can use following CSS under Appearance > Theme Options > Custom CSS:

    .alora-row {
    max-width: 1200px;
    }

    In regard to your second question, to get content boxes you can use content boxes shortcode which is built in theme4press core plugin.

    Thanks.

    Thankyou very much Emran, that works just as intended & makes our site do what we need 🙂

    One last query: Is there a way to reduce the horizontal padding on the individual main menu items?

    Thanks

    Hi CW,

    You can try this code under Appearance > Theme Options > Custom CSS:

    #nav.nav-holder .navigation > li > a {
    padding: 0 10px;
    }

    Thanks.
