    Since the latest theme update my footer widgets are now showing as boxed and I have the tickbox set not to display boxed widgets.
    Seems to be a problem?

    Your provided link redirect to Forbidden page. Please check.

    You can remove footer background color and border following option:
    Theme options -> Styling -> Slideshow & Widgets Area
    Disable Widget Content Boxed Background, check this option
