    Hi,

I have a simple portfolio page in 4 column mode.
    http://devwp.calgaryunac.org/past-events/

Anytime, I add a portfolio on the portfolio page in the admin settings, it does appear in the past-events group page. However, the link is broken to the actual portfolio item.

When I review the link in wp-admin, it is the same link in the editor, and the preview button also generates a 404.

    Example of the 404 generated:
    http://devwp.calgaryunac.org/portfolio-items/human-rights-day-10122013-social-media/

The shortlink (per the editor) for the item is the same:
    http://devwp.calgaryunac.org/?p=63

Because the 404 is happening on the portfolio created items, I don’t believe 4 column (etc) is the cause. Rather, its not generating the content when browsing…

When I use the site search using search, it does show the portfolio item (lets call it a blade) in the search. However, the link there leads to a 404 as well.

This is a fairly clean setup for the theme – I haven’t modified any CSS etc except to include the obvious slider to the front. Did I miss a step setting up the portfolio?

    Thanks,

    Lloyd

have you updated your permalinks after the theme installation? Settings -> Permalinks

    Thanks… Update it to what?

    Nothing is mentioned here (portfolio)

    http://theme4press.com/alora-documentation/setting-up-the-portfolio/

    or here (setup)

    http://theme4press.com/alora-documentation/

Discussing it with folks, we may end up not using this theme anyway. As their desired look and feel will require theme and CSS modifications which are not available natively in the app (the widget sidebar view is pretty terrible) or supported (meaning we need to customize the heck out of the widgets and header).

you are right it’s not mentioned in the docs, but it’s mentioned in the theme options right next to the Portfolio slug option:

Change/Rewrite the permalink when you use the permalink type as %postname%. Make sure to regenerate permalinks.
