  How do I get the search bar off the menu and up in the header area, below the social media icons? Having it in the menu makes the menu too tall.

the problem is now the menu which is displayed as a block. try this trick, not sure if it will work:

That actually moved it down below the menu. What can I try to get it above the menu. In the header area

sorry, this requires theme coding and we don’t support it in our forums….you could disable the search bar in the Header Options
