    Hi,

I’m using evolve plus (2.9.9.4 – child theme) on my website https://risikoscouts.de. I want to show youtube videos on https://risikoscouts.de/news/videos/ embedding the youtube code in my site. The problem is that the videos are only visible in my backend and not in the frontend. The same happens if I use the youtube widget in a sidebar – videos are perfectly visible in my backend, but as soon as I close the backend, the videos seem to disappear. What do you think is the problem?

    Thank you,
    Carmen

Hi. First, I would suggest you solve the mixed content problem. Some of the images you use on your website are hardcoded with http:// instead of https:// – it makes the entire page insecure. As for your question – I would need to see the console errors to determine what is the problem. Right now the embedded video isn’t there, so it is hard to tell. If you could give me access to the admin and the video you are trying to embed, I will try to do it and will find out what the problem is.

    Hello Evgeny,

thank you for pointing out the image issue – I will fix this as soon as possible.

I embedded the video again into our site at https://risikoscouts.de/news/videos/. Same problem like before: I can see it in the backend and I can even start it, but no sign of the video in the frontend.

Maybe you can have a look at the site now, and I will give you admin access if needed.

    Thank you,
    Carmen

Thank you for the credentials. As I thought, there is a problem with one of the plugins. You see, embedding Youtube videos is a core WordPress functionality, has nothing to do with themes. But your Cookiebot plugin blocks the video – once you deactivate it, videos can be seen on the page. So this is where the answer lies – either find another GDPR solution or try to tweak it or talk to their support. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.

    Hello Evgeny,

thank you very much, this was indeed the problem. It is just one checkbox in the cookiebot plugin I had to de-activate. Now our video runs smoothly on our website.

    Thanks again
    Carmen
