Tried to install child theme and active as it’s a best practice so that I don’t lose any customization when updates are released, but the site looks and functions entirely differently on child than the main theme. The settings, colors, fonts, and even the home page are entirely different and the sliders are all gone entirely. It’s like I would need to rebuild the entire settings from the main theme into the child theme which defeats the purpose of how a child theme works. For now I’ll stay on the main theme as it’s functioning properly there but wanted to point this out for future reference.

    Thank you!

Hello. What you are describing is totally normal for a child theme, that wasn’t installed from the very beginning. The child theme inherits the abilities of the main theme, but not the settings you’ve changes and CSS codes you’ve added. You will have to transfer them manually or with the help of an import/export plugin of your choice, that can transfer Customizer settings.
