Thank you in advance for your help!

I am a relative beginner with WordPress and Evolve+ but have some experience using Dreamweaver. I apologize if some of my questions are quite basic.

    URL: blog.crowdsolveit.org
(happy to send admin info if needed)
wordpress 4.7.2 running evolve Plus Theme (“up to date”)
relevant plugin: Recent Posts Widget Extended.

    1. I tried to put the most recent posts (with image and excerpt) on my homepage using the Reading Settings (static front page displays recent posts). This created a tangled amalgam of information from all pages on the homepage but no posts. Currently the static Front Page is set to the home page and another “Recents Posts” page is set to the posts page but when I look at the “recent posts” page it comes up blank, so I wonder if there is a corruption in my installation.

    2. Because I couldn’t get evolve Plus to display posts on the homepage, I reluctantly installed the Recent Posts Widget Extended plugin. It does display posts with thumbnail and excerpt but uses evolve Plus defaults, which brings me to the next issue:

    3. Some of my homepage is a very light color and serif font. I have looked repeatedly and cannot figure out where the default options are to change this. Similarly, I would like to change the font size on the title and cannot find those defaults either.

    4. This is a minor issue compared to the above, but is there any way to set a featured image and NOT have it show up at the top of every post? Right now I have to set the featured image in order for it show up as the thumbnail on my homepage but then find it taking up far too much space in the post itself.

    Thank you very much!

    Karin

    Hi,

Related to your first and second questions :
You have set Recent post content in your “Recents Posts” page set as posts page.
Please add theme create Recent posts shortcode ( It display in your visual content area of page editor) in your “Recents Posts” page.

For your third and four question:
Check this setting in your theme options area
Theme options -> Typography -> Post Title & Content

Theme options -> Blog -> Featured Image

    Thank you
