When placing a search from the search box on the homepage I do not get any results. If I change theme to twenty fifteen then I can see search results. Is there something I need to do to see search results? Thank you.

I disabled the plugin but still dont see any search results. It is strange that it works under a default theme though.

Renaming the htaccess file didnt help either. You are correct though. If you search for a word that is not indexed you get a response on that page. Try searching for roof instead.

are you not using a cache plugin? https://wordpress.org/support/topic/500-internal-error-on-search-results?replies=5 , also I still see errors generated by the WP FileBase plugin

No I do not use a caching plugin. Where is the error log located?

I have deactivated it again. I will leave it deactivated during our testing.
