Before upgrading my Evolve theme, I was able to show a sidebar on my bbPress forum page (I had a plugin I used to do this). I discovered the additional sidebar functionality that came with Evolve Plus and created a new sidebar which I then applied to my forum page. Making all these changes still produced no sidebar on the forum page. I also removed the plugin I originally used but that didn’t fix it either. And I double checked that the page is not set to full width and it’s on default page template. Any suggestions on a step I might have missed?

I have seen the bug….you have set everything correctly..just the theme is not using the chosen sidebar…I would suggest, if possible, to use the previous plugin until we get this fixed..thanks for your patience

I tried to get my original plugin to create the sidebar widgets but all the configurations I’ve tried are not working. Is there a way I can temporarily disable the sidebar features for EvolvePlus? I’m not actually in need of this feature at the moment. I already tried removing the two sidebar.php files in my theme directory (and storing them locally until later). That produced the sidebar but then deleted the forum from the page. I’m pretty new to working with web code so I’m unsure what else to try.

Ok, I found a work around for now by using the bbPress short codes to over-ride the easy method. (I just have to reset all the css to match the rest of the theme pages now.)

By the way, pretty much nothing with the theme addons is working on the forum index and topic pages. I wasn’t able to show headers, breadcrumbs or any of the default sidebars (except the default page sidebar does actually show on the topic sub-pages).

In general I’ve found a lot of theme css that could be improved for bbPress and BuddyPress for that matter. I do really appreciate how much effort has obviously gone into making this theme easy to use and create wonderful looking WP sites. I hope the staff will consider extending that level of detail into the BuddyPress and bbPress features as well. Despite the many small annoying details, it still creates a pretty decent looking setup right out of the box.

    Thanks, Victoria

I have a similar issue with sidebars and bbPress.
I installed bbPress and imported a phpBB forum with no real problems.
I used the default Sidebar2 and added login widgets etc to it.

I created a test page called forumstest and used the forum shortcode

    .

When I directly use the URL for the forum page: http://www.weavervalleycc.org.uk/sidebar shows correctly. If directed to the forums with the built in ‘forums’ name, the sidebar defaults to Sidebar1.

Any ideas why this is and how I get around it?
