    Hi,

    How can I:
    1) Update themes via the WordPress update procedure?
    or
    2) Update themes via FTP file upload/update, replacing only required files?

I wish to avoid the situation of applying an updated theme as a new theme, as this has potential unwanted outcomes, such as having to rebuild the theme options from scratch, which is not an acceptable outcome.

    Thanks in advance

Thanks. I am experiencing an error with this.

I wish to update our evolve+ theme via control panel, auto update.

My website (www.lougars.co.uk) is running Evolve+ version 2.0.1

Your latest build is version 2.7.1

However, the theme is not showing that an update is available. How can this be fixed?

I do not wish to go down the FTP upload route as this would mean a lot of manual work, and this is why WordPress maintain the theme update functionality, which I would like to use.

Also, I am running the Alora+ theme on another website. This also has an update available for it, and again, this is not showing in the WordPress admin area. I am running Alora 2.8.0, and 2.8.3 is available. Since I run other websites running themes from different companies and these are updating via the wordpresss dashboard fine, this leads me to believe that your theme update procedure is not working. Could you please fix this problem with your software? I purchased the one-time, unlimited domain themes from you in good faith, and I expect this software to function correctly – including the update functionality. Please let me know when this issue is fixed.

    Many thanks

    Hello
Sorry for you getting inconvenience with out theme.
Your theme running Evolve+ version 2.0.1 but we Added Theme Automatic Update Feature Evolve+ after Version: 2.5.0 – 19/11/15 check our change log for this.
So you need to do one time manual update as provided steps in this:
    https://theme4press.com/docs/theme-installation-update/

And for Alora+ you have to just add your authentication details in :
Appearance -> Theme Updates, add your Theme4press login details here, make sure it’s correct. Our system automatic show you notification when update release. And you can do auto update theme as well without manual work.

    Thank you

To avoid mistakes and errors, it really is best that you install the upgrade as a new theme.

If you will go to Appearance>Theme Options, at the bottom you will notice “Import/Export Setting.”

This makes it easy to apply your current settings to the upgraded theme.

Having the upgrade installed as a new theme helps you prevent mistakes in case something in the new theme doesn’t quite work right (which is the issue I am currently facing, as Evolve+ apparently has a plugin conflict that the lite version didn’t have.)
