sorry not under theme options but under customize
Sue
Finally found it – I do find this a confusing place for it to be, but is in theme options and it is the only thing there under colors – Would thinks labeling this background color would make a lot more sense, just my 2 cents
Thanks
How is this customization? Isn’t the header where the logo is? Isn’t that where the header widgets should go? I would think that the theme is not purring it in the correct location.
Close but not right. That put the widget over the area where the slider would be if I had one. I need it over the header at the top of the page – the area with the logo and photo. I need the calendar to appear to the right of the photo on http://shimmyshack.com/1544-2/
Thanks
Thanks again for your help – I have not yet tested changing the header through CSS but was able to do a lot of cleanup so the mobile looks a lot better.
As always appreciate your help.
Sue
Thanks – the css worked perfectly.
Couldn’t I use similar css to specify a different header rather than change the theme?
Or is there a way to close up the space below the header in the mobile version – header is not a much a problem as is the huge space below it. http://www.shimmyshack.com

No that did not work – that made the slider shorter – the pink band is still there but now everything in the slider is moved up.

Hopefully my css is correct this time – but could you please check the site again and tell me how to get rid of the medium pink band that appears just above the parallax slider and below the nav bar. This is still some kind of overlap of the slider and the nav bar.
thanks
Sue
There are content boxes under the slider – not sure why you can’t see them. There are three of them and include the photo column, the “We promise…” column and the, “Follow us” column.
I added the code you gave and left the background color as you stated as black. Please look again and you will see that the black is not only under the slider but under the nag bar making the nav bar grayish. Also the artwork (which right now are jogs with a pink background, overlap the nav bar. I need the slider to be totally below the nav bar including it’s background color and the pieces of artwork. Once you see the content boxes, can you also help on the other questions?
{if you are using a static homepage, you can disable it and use content boxes shortcode.}
I am not sure what you mean – how would I then make this page the home page.

And a little more testing finds that if the horz line code is added to the page code it does appear in Firefox. You can see this – there is a now a line above “Want to bring a little…” which is added in the page code. There are supposed to be lines on the top of each of the content boxes – they appear in Safari but not Firefox. The front page contents boxes are “blocking” them from displaying it seems.
