    I am not sure what a child theme arrangement would be. Can you elaborate? We apply the theme like usual through wp-admin.

    I followed the update via wordpress procedure and still the same error after clicking the upload button. I verified the php.ini file had correct parameters set as well.

    Request Entity Too Large
    The requested resource
    /wp-admin/update.php
    does not allow request data with POST requests, or the amount of data provided in the request exceeds the capacity limit.

    You know I just updated to WP 4.2 and didnt even bother to test search functionality. That must have fixed it somehow. Thank you again for looking into this. Sorry for the back and forth.

    I am running wordpress on Linux. Do I have to install an FTP server package on my box or is there some FTP functionality built into wordpress? How can I test and verify functionality?
