    Roman,

I touched on this a little in another thread (Sticky Header and Menu) but thought it better to move topic.

There are various sites that claim different stats for browser market share…
one of the latest articles I found was on OCT2013 and from the site The Next Web.
    http://thenextweb.com/insider/2013/11/01/ie11-takes-1-49-market-share-firefox-gains-bit-chrome-hits-27-month-low

My concern is the way our sites are displaying, with Alora, on legacy browsers that still hold a significant market share on the Web. For example, the link above shows IE has 58% of the Web. They also go back to IE6; however, our site only has significant usage back to IE8. The Next Web article (above) also shows that 22% of Web users are still on IE8. IE 8 is the default browser in Windows 7 and a lot of companies still have not moved off of XP/IE8 (I know dark ages)… If I read the stats correctly, IE8 still has more usage than either of the competitors Chrome or Firefox.

I’ve personally rolled a machine back to Win7/IE8 and found a XP/IE8 browser to test with… both boxes have a broken navigation/menu. The menu will only display the parent menu items with no drop down to the child pages.

Without reworking the theme (unless its easy to fix)…
Do you know of a plug-in that will move the site to another theme?

My thought here is we have a plug-in to detect mobile browsers and move those sessions over to a low bandwidth environment (very striped down). Any way to do that… such as move IE8 (Chrome/Firefox older browsers) traffic to the Evolve theme?

In case the article goes away, the breakdown of the 3 top browsers are:
    IE 58.22%: IE11 1.49%, IE10 18.94%, IE9 9.49%, IE8 21.76%, IE7 1.31% and IE6 4.93%
    FF 18.70%: FF25 0.76%, FF24 12.79%, FF (old) 5.15%
    C 15.42%: C30 10.45%, C29 2.4%, C (old) 2.57

    Thoughts?

    Thx,
    Chad

If the above stats are correct… then almost 1/3 of viewers are seeing the following issues.

    IE 9:
    – Menu (7 Parent Items)
Menu is fine prior to scrolling down the page (no sticky header yet). Once the sticky header is activated… the logo moves to the title bar area (good), and the menu moves just below the title bar area… spreads across two rows and does not have a white background to prevent it from blending into the body of the page scrolling behind.

    IE 8 and 9:
    – Title Bar, Social Media Icons
Icons are faded squares (same color as title theme color).
When hovering they turn to red/blue squares and the only way to know what they are is by the tool tip.

    IE 8:
    – Menu (7 Parent Items)
Menu is fine prior to scrolling down the page. Once you scroll down the page, sticky header is activated, logo moves to the title bar area, with the menu just below the title bar, menu spreads across two rows, does not have a white background to prevent it from blending into the body of the page… and ONLY the parent items are viewable/selectable…

    – Tab Layout (Horizontal)
Only the content from the first tab is displayed. Users don’t see any additional tabs, to select, to display the content.

    – Font Awesome Icons
Not supported – look like broken pictures

well, I would say about that stats it’s very discussable… for example this website shows different stats http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp . also based on my google analytics of theme4press.com:

    1. Chrome 49,59 %
    2. Firefox 27,77 %
    3. Internet Explorer 8,15 %

I will try to fix those issues

    FYI…

    In IE11
When I scroll down and the sticky header is activated…
I’m seeing the menu expand (width), which then forces the menu to wrap to two rows. The menu also doesn’t keep the 90-95% white background and is hard to read.

    Just curious…

Reading the threads… I know your busy with multiple items.

Do you post back into each thread when something is resolved…
    – or –
Should we periodically download the theme and reinstall.

BTW… Thanks for the great work 🙂
