    Hi
    Some readers sent me emails saying that they could not comment on the latest post at http://pattymackz.com/wordpress/new/2016/10/29/french-chef-comes-to-your-kitchen/
    I tried commenting myself and here is what happened: I could write my comment and publish it, but it never showed in the comments and there is none to be approved. As soon as I posted it, the comments space in the post became unavailable and there has been no error message.

    I checked that the comments be allowed in pages and in the post. Both have the box checked.
    Any idea where to look ?

    Hi,

    1) Edit the post and check your comments setting in the Discussion metabox.
    2) Theme Options -> Blog -> Blog Single Post Page Options -> Comments
    3) Theme Options -> Extra -> Miscellaneous Options -> Allow Comments on Pages

    Thanks for the answer, but I had already checked those two options.
    I unchecked them, saved, checked again and saved again, but still no luck.

    It looks like the problem appeared after I cloned this site using the plugin NS Cloner – Site Copier. Maybe just a coincidence, but could this give you any idea ? A few comments posted before my cloning are visible and I could reply to one of them.
    I also noticed that I can reply within the dashboard, and this reply shows on the website unlike thoe posted on the post itself.

    Sorry, I have idea if this plugin will damage you comments database.
    If your comments database is damaged, your comments will not show up or not show up in the correct post.

    I notice that you are using Jetpack plugin. Another possibility is a conflict with jetpack comments.
    Please disable jetpack comments module and see if your comments are working properly.

    Jetpack was indeed the problem. Weird as I did not modify these parameters recently, but who knows. I noticed that Jetpack was not connected to my WordPress.com account anymore and checked it. I just found a big mess in my WP dashboard, so something must have happened.
