I currently use the following blog shortcode to display posts on our News page:

    [blog number_posts="6" cat_slug="" exclude_cats="buy-sell" show_title="yes" title_link="yes" thumbnail="yes" excerpt="yes" excerpt_length="50" meta_all="yes" meta_author="no" meta_categories="yes" meta_comments="no" meta_date="yes" meta_link="yes" meta_tags="yes" paging="yes" scrolling="pagination" strip_html="no" blog_grid_columns="2" layout="medium" class="" id=""][/blog]

Is it possible to have the “Read More” button displayed above or even with the Date and Categories? It would snuggle things up quite a bit more in each News listing.

Thanks again for all your help!

    Thank You.

Thanks, Priyank. I changed the layout from “medium” to “large” and that seemed to only move the date from the bottom to just under the post title. But that does look better so I left it that way. I also changed the bottom padding to — .page-id-1099 .hentry {padding-bottom: 30px; } — and that at least spaces the posts out better so that the Read More button is closer to the correct post.

One other question about the blog shortcode while I have your attention….

I thought the 3 ellipses in brackets — […] — that show up at the end of the excerpt used to hyperlink to the rest of the post/news article. Am I dreaming???-:) Did I accidentally turn something off or was this never there and not even possible?

    Thanks again,

Hi Chuck, no the […] on the end of the excerpt never linked to the post, but there is an option to enable the Read more button after the excerpt
