    Hi, is it possible to have three or four buttons directly under the slider but above the content boxes? From there I wish to link to a special page.

    yes, if you enable header widgets in the Theme Options and then add buttons there with shortcode https://theme4press.com/docs/shortcodes/buttons/ by a text widget

    Hi Roman, I have enabled the header widget, I found the shortcodes, but HOW do I implement them? When I activate ‘header widget’ is get a black section under my slider.

    there are no instructions for customizations like this. Once you enable the header widgets, you visit the Widgets page, assign a php widget (you will need to enable PHP in widget, try this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-shortcode-and-php-support-in-text-widget/) to the desired widget area e.g. Header 1 and insert the button shortcode in the php widget area, e.g.
