What is the official update procedure for taking evolve+ from 1.8 to 2.0? Should we be uninstalling the existing evolve+ theme before installing the new version? When installing directly on top I get an error. I am running WP 4.2.4 on CentOS.

    Request Entity Too Large
    The requested resource
    /wp-admin/update.php
does not allow request data with POST requests, or the amount of data provided in the request exceeds the capacity limit.

    Thanks

I followed the update via wordpress procedure and still the same error after clicking the upload button. I verified the php.ini file had correct parameters set as well.

If you are using a child-theme arrangement I am assuming that if you ftp the theme to overwrite the existing version this would be the best method. Is that true?

I am not sure what a child theme arrangement would be. Can you elaborate? We apply the theme like usual through wp-admin.

child-themes are based upon the parent theme like Evolve so that when there a updates to the parent them they do not overwrite your child theme’s customizations.

My question was for the moderator.

Oh sorry I can see that now. For reference I am not using a child theme of evolve.

    Hi,

Does not matter if you are using child theme or only the Evolve Plus Theme.
As long as you have no modifications done to your Evolve Plus Theme, you can update using FTP.

My suggestion is to delete Evolve Plus Theme before uploading Latest Evolve Plus Theme. This is because, sometimes ftp overwriting fails without proper warning, or you missed the log message and you can end up having updated only half the theme.. or have empty files.. etc, causing PHP fatal errors.

At the moment, there are some bugs within Evolve Plus v2.0.0, I suggest you wait for next version.

    Thanks!
