    Hi Denzel,

I am running alora 2.7.1 with a child theme. What is the best way to update to alora 2.7.5? Can I use your instructions to delete the old theme and install the new theme and still keep my current child theme?

    Thanks,
    Mac

    Hi Denzel and Dennis,

Thanks for the good advice! I suspected that was the way to do it, but wanted someone else to chime in before I proceeded.

At first, after I updated, it looked like I lost some things because the LayerSlider I had placed under the homepage header wasn’t there and the page layout wasn’t right. But then I saw that I needed to reinstall the LayerSlider and the Theme4Press Core. Once that was done everything worked.

    So thanks again, guys!

Thanks for the information, Denzel. But I’m still not sure of how to proceed. I don’t have any templates overriding on alora-child. So you say “You can keep a copy of Alora 2.5 on your computer and proceed to update your server with Alora 2.7.” Roman said to delete the old version and then install the new one. But since I can’t delete version 2.5 while alora-child is active, how, exactly, do I update to version 2.7?

The reason for a child theme is so we can update themes without losing the settings in the older version of the theme. But, apparently, the alora theme can’t be updated using the standard WP method. So, again, how do I update without losing my theme settings?

    Thanks.

    Hi Roman,

Any chance of getting help with this? It’s been 5 days, 11 hours since I posted it.

Roman, this is the WordPress/Buddypress “Register” page: http://earthwho.com/register/. I cannot figure out how to style the “Submit” button. If you can tell me how to do this, maybe I can use the same procedure to style other elements.

    Thanks,

    Mac
