Ohh I see. I was not sure if that is exactly going to happen (by removing the theme first). However, I was following the lines from the instructions at the theme docs page.

    Quote:
“In order to update your Theme4Press theme, simply install a backup plugin, which will help you to revert the current version of the theme, if something went wrong. For example UpdraftPlus WordPress Backup plugin. After the backup, you can proceed to the update.

Navigate to the Appearance Themes and remove the current version of the theme. Once the theme is successfully removed, you can continue to the install section.”
    End of quote:

I believe that you will agree with me that this is a bit confusing. Anyway, as you have added a new way of theme updating this should not happen anymore. By the way, might be wise to update the docs regarding this new change at the theme webiste 🙂

Also, it seems to me that there are some more settings added to the theme customizer in this version (at least I can’t remember I saw them before) and they are great.

Thanks for the so fast reply. Going to update the theme following the instructions you posted within your reply.

Well, cURL error(s) have gone. There are no critical issues that wordpress site health shows anymore. That means that issue has been resolved and that this topic can be closed. Once again, thanks everyone who have participated into solving the issue and were helping me. BIG vouch for Victoria.

However, another issue showed up but I will start another topic in order to keep the things easier to follow.

As already said, really looking forward to it. It will be a nice surprise if rolling out goes smooth. The theme is awesome and far more better than many others but it just gave me so often so much headaches with updates. Anyway, appreciated your hard work and new support team behind. I’ll be happy to see what surprise you have prepared.

    Cheers 🙂

Update: switching to latest PHP 7.3.6 doesn’t have any effect. issue is present as long as the evolve-plus theme is active.

I’d like to thanks everyone who have been involved in solving the issue. It took pretty much of time and nerves from everyone of us involved. I am glad we all had understanding and respect between each of us so the final outcome is the one we all have been working for. I hope that in the upcoming months and years we will not have much reasons to talk here again.

    Cheers !
