OK, wait a sec. In order for me to use the maps feature I need to register with Google, provide them with my credit card number, just to get this API key? Come on, there has to be a better way to simply display a general location on a map on the contact us page?

also, is there a way to make the form fields highlighted or framed? They are difficult to see, makes it tough to know where to start typing.

OK, so I have the new version installed, and lots of changes. Working through the settings to get things back in order. One issue I haven’t been able to resolve is the Contact Us page needed to be setup new, and the Google map is not displaying. I have our address typed in the way the form instructed, but the Google Map, which is now active on our site, is all gray, no detail? Here is how I have the address typed in: 9470 SW Laughter Lane|Amity|Oregon|97101

I would prefer to just include the city|state|zip, not my home address. I did this on the previous version and it was perfect, so at least people could see what city we lived in.

so is this process going to lose my customizations? Like contact page, header images, etc? Why isn’t auto-updates an option anymore? This process seems to require me to completely remove my existing theme, in order to install a new one and I am worried that I will have to reconfigure my entire site.

Hi Roman, according to the theme page, and my updates page, everything is up to date. That is usually the first thing I check. I am running Evolve+ 2.8.3.

All of those settings were correct, as I had checked them all multiple times. I checked with my host and there were no issues on their end. I isolated the problem to a conflict with either akismet or jetpack. When I disabled those plugins notifications started working fine. As I re-enabled them, things kept working so I am not really sure which one caused the issue, but apparently just stopping/starting those plugins resolved the issue.

ok, that worked. When attempting to edit the contact page, my screen options (top right of dashboard next to help) did not have the discussion box checked, so I was not seeing the discussion metabox right away. But eventually figured that out and unchecked the comments and trackbacks options.

    Thank you,
    Michael

Apparently we are receiving emails from the contact us page, but no notifications about new comments. Would this be a different issue than our host?

Thank you very much, that of course worked.

Should I remove the previous code Denzel had me place in CSS for the frame re-sizing, or leave it and add this new coding?

Why do I need to add this custom code when there are clearly options within the theme design that should be making these changes. I am grateful for your help in getting it to display correctly, but I thought the theme options should be able to make those changes without adding custom CSS.

ok, that worked until I noticed a new post from yesterday that shows an image frame only on 3 sides.

On the posts slider, when the Fresh Eggs post displays the image frame is not complete. All the rest seem to be fine?

Also, why am I not able to make changes to the size/color of image frames. When I go into shortcodes/image frame, no matter what settings I choose, it doesn’t effect the blog layout at all?

    Thank you,
    Michael
