    by default, the theme works fine in IE, but you are using a CSS minification plugin which probably breaking the CSS code, try to disable it and check if it helps

    I think every author could publish in a specific post category and then you could have it displayed as blogs, if you need an unique blogs on one domain/subdomain then you could check the WP multisite functionality http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network
