    sorry but that’s not possible when you are using a boxed layout as the header element is placed in a wrapper with fixed width.

    you could try in Theme Options -> Background and set there same image for both Background Image For Outer Areas In Boxed Mode and Background Image For Main Content Area and set both 100% Background Image
