for one is it bad, for the other good 🙂 Thats life.
I just run in the same result while testing it local with a copy in xampp. There I switch back the theme to v3.0 and all was fine, so it must be the theme.
A big thank you for looking in it, great.
Regards
Andreas
another little info: it is a Jetpack portfolio and not the build in theme portfolio. As I start my page a build in portfolio wasn’t available.
little more info: the picture in 680×330 exists and be in the uploads directory.
The example above show this picture:
http://www.aero-flott.de/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/FdW15.jpg
and should be look like this:
http://www.aero-flott.de/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/FdW15-680×330.jpg
yes, typo. http://www.aero-flott.de is correct.
now it looks like this: http://www.aero-flott.de/portfolio/fang-den-wind-15-1-1990/
You see the picture in full size without cropping.
In < V3.01 it was croped to 680px × 330px
Strange thing: not all portolios are changed. If you look at this you see the old format:
The Picture of the cobra look like this in original size:

I use firefox 84.0.2 and WordPress 5.6
I take a closer look to the language dir. The .mo files is the same in every 2.9.x version and the .pot file is changed. They use a old Loco-Tranlate Version 2.2.0 for WordPress V5.0 and the last date for the .mo files is 2018.
I do a new set .po/.mo files for german based on 2.9.9.8 evolve.pot
The evolve.pot in 2.9.9.8 have only 90.301 bytes, the old one from 2.9.9.4 have 196.834 bytes
The .mo file now have only 66.831 bytes and no longer 82.000 bytes
Where I can send it?
I take the 2.9.9.4 files, install the loco-translate plugin and after setup the path to the .pot file I do a sync and create my own translation for missing strings. Tip: the path to the .pot file should be languages/evolve.pot
A how-to can be found here: https://theme4press.com/guide/docs/how-to-translate/?utm_source=evolve-plus-about&utm_medium=help-translate-link&utm_campaign=theme-content-box#premium
I’m sure that one of the next updates contains propper language files.
seems to be the same problem with .mo files reported here: https://theme4press.com/support-forums/topic/wp5-5-evolve-plus-2-9-9-8-language-sets/
I upload the de_DE.mo file from 2.9.9.4 and can edit it. Thje V2.9.9.8 file is defect.
