    Adding an email address to the social media links doesn’t work. When I enter the standard email address ([email protected]), clicking on the email icon opens up a new tab in the browser, going to url – website.com/[email protected] – which results in a 404. If I add a mailto: at the start of the email address it does the same thing but opens up the mail client.

    How can I get this to work so when clicking on the mail icon it just opens up the mail client without going to a new tab / new window?

    Hi,

    Adding mailto:[email protected] works.
    I just tested. Does not open new tab on browser. Opens up email client, if your email client supports mailto:

    Hi,

    Sorry, that’s an issue with Chrome.
    I do not have a fix.

    I am using firefox on my Mac and it does not open a new tab.
    Safari browser works properly too.
