Morning,
this might be my dumbest question yet, so thank you for reading.in “nutshell”:
so I am trying to get the old index.html page to redirect to http://www.wizardfm.com.au/ but it wont work and I don’t know why, when other redirects work okmy problem is that when I ask the .htaccess file to redirect
http://www.wizardfm.com.au/index.html to http://www.wizardfm.com.au/ it goes to a 404
so I have to delete from the .htaccess file
I know its not the .htaccess file as I have others redirects in there which work ok.
its just the file which ends in /index.htmlif I rewrite the redirect like this
http://www.wizardfm.com.au/index.html to http://www.wizardfm.com.au/about-us/ this works. but this is not the home page.I have also tried renaming to “home” instead of index but I get the same result.

Hi,
Don’t use .htaccess redirection.
In your index.html file, use javascript redirection in your body tag.

I tried this, it sot of works, but not.
The Jquery redirect works, so the site goes to http://www.wizardfm.com.au/, but the theme or workpress then want it to go index as what appear to be a default (i.e.index is the default) so the page reloads and then reload and then reloads in an infinite loop.
I have put a request in the “services”, back on the 5th August, but nothing back yet.
