I just saw that the new version of alora v2.5.0 is available for download. Before performing this update I would like to know the exact procedure to update. what to uninstall plugins etc …

I would recommend to back up your current theme folder as well as Theme4Press Core plugin and Revolution Slider plugin. Then remove only the theme, upload the new version and install it. Then the theme will show you a message to upgrade the plugins which is made automatically.

Do I automatically get a notice for an update because I don’t see it in the Panel yet.

sorry, but not. automatically updates are from wordpress.org themes. our premium themes need to be updated manually.

the old settings will be kept…just visit the Theme Options page and click Save Settings button
