    Hi,

We have a hosted WordPress site with GoDaddy and had submitted a ticket for them to update our Evolve theme to solve the issues we’ve had since the WP update.

When they did, they said it seemed to have been customized and all that broke so they reverted. Here are the screenshots they sent – the one post update doesn’t even look like the same theme, it looks like everything would break.

    Before break: https://snipboard.io/C1PFKo.jpg
    After break: https://snipboard.io/3Ama9c.jpg

Would this issue be fixed if I 1) deactivate the Theme4Press core plugin (I have now done so) and 2) Activate the Component Shortcode plugin?

Any help would be appreciated, we cannot properly use our site as it is and this is causing major issues for us.

Hi. It is hard for me to diagnose what is going on – what I do know is Evolve Plus 2.9.9.8 and Component Shortcodes 1.0.2 make everything alright and break nothing. t4p-core needs to be deleted. Tne After Break image really does look like another theme altogether, maybe a fallback theme is activated once there is a problem with the main one. In any case, I’ve also noticed that the theme folder you have on your website is evolveplus, when it should be evolve-plus. So this is some kind of customization done to the theme which makes it problematic to give support to, too many things would break without a correct upgrade. And there’s the CDN being used… Possibly, one of your plugins causes a problem, check their compatibility as well. After updating, turn them all off and then one by one until the problem reappears. We only support Evolve Plus and/or Child theme installations, but this is something totally different. Do let me know if there’s something I can help with.

Hi – tried doing this myself and had the same issue. I can attach screenshots. I switched back to theme version we had (2.9.7) and its normal again.

I don’t understand – are other people needing to basically redesign their entire websites with each update? Our sliders vanished, the colours changed, sidebars are gone too it looks like a completely different website. This was not all custom CSS or anything, just appearance customization through the customization options. Are none of these things saved when we update the theme? All we did was standard items like adding front page content boxes, sliders, etc all of which was offered through the theme.

Please help, we do not have the time to redo the website for the 3rd time and with the old theme we still cannot update things we need to update.

Sorry just saw your response – I just dont understand because we didn’t change anything beyond standard. I don’t even know how to rename the theme folder, would that have been done on the backend somewhere?

I did deactivate theme4press core, and all plugins including component shortcode are up to date. As far as I can tell its not on a fallback theme, it says Evolve 2.9.8 is the active one when I check. I’ll try activating again and testing the plugins.

I tried with the plugins, issue still persists. Is there nothing you can do for us? We truly did not customize this beyond standard appearance items in the theme so I really don’t understand

And BTW, did you refresh the files hosted on Godaddy’s CDN?

I do not know how to refresh them, that’s a question to Godaddy’s support )) Anyway, I need the wp-admin access as well.
