Hi. Restore the last correct looking theme version (like you’ve said you would) and send again admin and FTP access in a private message.Thanks.
We would be glad to help, it just might take us some time. Let’s try and solve the slider problem first. Please send me the access to the admin area and FTP in a private message. Thanks
I offered you the best way to deal with your update in your other thread.
Hi. First, if the changes are so extensive, you should restore you website from backup. The current version doesn’t use Redux, and although it most cases it should pick up all the settings, your current version is very old and probably extensively customised. So the best way would be to restore, create a testing environment and first make sure the update works there, only then try to update the live version again.
The API key is in your account, there is a new option KEYS there. Get yours and save it in your WordPress Customize theme->API key section. Color settings – we are working on it.
Can you please elaborate on this: “And that you have been eating all testimonials and individual input at start screen , make a lot of work after change to 2.9.8 . And of course I love you for update improvement, hope it does not kill individual content again next time.”? Because the update should change absolutely nothing on the visual part of your website. The updated are purely technical. What are the steps you are taking to update?
Thanks for the heads up. It IS outdated and will be taken care of. And yes, from now on please just use the API key to make the update as easy as a breeze.
Well, actually, the way you do it – this can be easily anticipated. You should never update the theme the way you described. The correct way is to upload the new version through FTP and unzip it in the themes folder, so that only the changed files of the theme would be replaced. Otherwise, it is completely normal and this is how WP works, that steps 3-4 wiped out and reset the database table, where all your settings are stored. This is not an issue nor it is a malfunction of the theme. In any case, once you’ve successfully updated the theme to 2.9.8, you will have a new option of updating it just like your plugins are updated, for example – right in your admin area. This is the big news of this release. Then you will not have a problem like this ever again (however, it is still a good idea to back everything up every time before an update).
Hello! Please update to the newest version and see how many issues, if any, are still present. Thanks!
